When we say Terapia, we say history, tradition and experience: founded in 1921, the company became the first holder of a certificate of good manufacturing practice issued in Romania, in 1999, but also the first local pharmaceutical producer with its own center of clinical studies of bioequivalence, in 2002.
Together with a team of over 800 passionate people, since 2015, Terapia has become part of Sun Pharma, the fourth largest pharmaceutical company of generic and specialized products in the world.
Currently, we are exporting medicines to 25 countries and produce annually 93 million boxes of medicines, with an unparalleled portfolio, both in terms of manufacturing technologies as well as in terms of product quality, which covers a wide range of therapeutic areas: cardiovascular system, central nervous system, musculoskeletal system, anti-infectives for systemic use, antineoplastic and immunomodulators, respiratory system, digestive tract and metabolism, etc.

Sun Pharma has had an upward trajectory since its beginning , since 1983, and has become the first and most valuable pharmaceutical company in India, based on market capitalization. Our business has mostly grown organically, but over time, we have also expanded our business through partnerships, agreements, collaborations and acquisitions. The most important acquisition was announced in March 2015, when Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, including Terapia, became part of the Sun Pharma group. Since that time, the trade name of our Romanian subsidiary has become Terapia – a SUN PHARMA company.
Today, Sun Pharma's global presence is supported by 44 production facilities located on 6 continents, research and development centers around the world and a multicultural team of 32,000 people and over 50 nationalities. The company promotes excellence through innovation, having a team of more than 2000 scientists and investing annually about 7% of the turnover in research and development activities.
